Langres returns to the front with Company of Heroes 2

One of Company of Heroes’ most popular multiplayer maps is making a comeback, with a suitable Eastern Front twist.

Created for the original game as part of a Relic map design competition, Langres quickly became one of the most popular small-scale multiplayer maps.   Over the years Company of Heroes players have clocked up over 3.2 million matches and 1.2 million hours battling for control of this unassuming rural location.

Now Company of Heroes 2 players will be able to experience this classic for themselves. Reimagined in both traditional summer and new winter variations, Langreskaya will be patched into the game for free later today, Tuesday 30th July.

Deadpool learns to share with new DLC

Just when I thought I was done...

Hi folks, it's me, Internet sensation and game review subject, Deadpool, here to shatter your fragile world views once more by revealing that the “Merc with a Map Pack” for MY video game, DEADPOOL, is now available to all players for purchase.

Why would I open up my “Merc with a Map Pack” DLC to everyone who plays my game? Because exclusives suck! What if fire had remained exclusive to Mount Olympus? What if indoor toilets had remained exclusive to Victorian England? What if cool katanas with freakin' TIGERS on the hilt had remained exclusive to the shopping mall blacksmiths who forged them? Exactly!

So here's the Dealpool on what you get:

  • TWO new maps for Challenge Mode: GRT Plaza and Inside the Tower. These are good maps. I have broken bread with these maps. They went to private school. They will serve you well.
  • TWO new costumes to bust out in Infinite Mode: My D-Pooly and Uncanny X-Force suits.

I'M NOT FINISHED, HERE'S MORE INFORMATION. PREPARE YOURSELVES!

In the spirit of downloading content, I am pleased to share that DEADPOOL is now available on the Xbox LIVE Marketplace as a Games on Demand title. Digital downloads FTW!

The DEADPOOL “Merc with a Map Pack” DLC is now available for 240 Microsoft Points. DEADPOOL is out now for the Xbox 360® games and entertainment system from Microsoft and the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system. It is rated MA15+ by the Australian Classification Board. Freedom Fall - Maxi Geek Review

What does it take to make a great game? Amazing and super fancy graphics? A complicated story? The answer is no. A great game is made by a great idea and that feeling you get when you beat a hard part or realize something that has had you stuck. And Freedom Fall is just that game.

Freedom Fall has you take on the role of Marsh, a prisoner of the tower that was designed by the Princess. Yes in this platformer you’re not out to save the Princess, but to save yourself from her. The Princess has taken over the tower and has left heaps of art and scribbles to help explain why she did it, and what she expects of you. Of course in between all that are giant spinning blades, fire pits, spikes and more.

As far as stories go, this one is easy to get and makes sense for the content of the game. It’s just a shame that it’s not expanded more throughout. As Marsh makes his way down, you will learn more about the world of Freedom Fall, including other members of the Royal family, even if they never make an appearance. In fact there are only 4 characters in the game, and one of them is a shark.

Sadly there is a downside to the game, at least on PC and that’s the default controls. Using a keyboard for a game that requires a higher level of control than most platformers is just not possible. Even if the standard navigation was ok, adding in item throwing elements makes this impossible. Thankfully the game supports gamepad and once I hooked it up I was jumping blades and dodging bursts of fire like a pro.

Freedom Fall takes a good look at platformers and adds a whole new experience to it, by switching it from a top to bottom look rather than left to right. It adds some Super Meat Boy style elements, but thankfully does not take the difficulty as well. It does run a little on the short side, but thankfully there is enough replay to keep you coming back again and again.

PlayStation®4 (PS4™) Playable Before Official Release at EB EXPO 2013

If you are going to the EB Games Expo, then be sure to make sure you go hands on with the PS4.

The organisers of the EB GAMES EXPO are excited to announce that those attending the October event will be part of gaming history. The EB Expo will play host to the first PlayStation®4 (PS4™) public hands on, ahead of the official launch of the next generation console in Australia.
“It’s fantastic that Australians get the chance to get hands on with the PS4 at EB Expo before its official release. This is usually a privilege reserved for industry insiders, now everyone is an insider” said Debra McGrath, EB Games National Brand, Events and Engagement Manager.
McGrath continued “This is a big deal… people are going to be able to look back in years to come and brag that they played it first. We know that this is something that the community have been waiting for and as gamers ourselves we are equally excited. The prospect of hands on game play before the official release is something gamers only dream of. We are stoked that Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has made this a reality for those attending EB Expo.”

Attack On Titan - Joins the Madman Screening Room

I have been watching this series for a while now and I can tell you its epic. If you want to be blown away then you should watch this.

One of the most highly anticipated releases of the year, Madman is proud to announce the local premiere of Attack on Titan – now streaming Mondays on www.madman.com.au/screeningroom.

Several hundred years ago, humanity was very nearly wiped from the Earth as they were hunted down by giant creatures known as Titans – beasts several stories tall who devour human beings for pleasure. The humans erected giant walls around their cities, which kept them safe until a colossal Titan – larger than any they’ve seen before - appears out of thin air and destroys their defences. When this destruction leads to the death of his mother, Eren Jaeger swears vengeance and an undying vow to hunt down and kill all Titans.

With its blistering action, relentless pacing and unpredictable storyline, the 25-episode post-apocalyptic series - which is animated by newcomers Wit Studio and helmed by the director of Death Note and High School of the Dead - has become THE hottest anime property across the globe.

Episodes 1-4 are available to view for free now on www.madman.com.au/screeningroom – with new double episodes being added each Monday.
