EB Games Expo gets bigger by the day

As anticipation grows for the forthcoming EB Games Expo, so does the line-up of activities and announcements. EB Games is excited to introduce a series of publisher updates, new exhibitor additions and a sneak peak at the Expo map.

First up, Ubisoft has announced it’ll be setting sail outside the convention hall with the epic inclusion of a Pirate Ship Ride to help gamers get in the spirit and celebrate the forthcoming launch of Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag, due for release on the 31st October. Suitable for young adventurers and seasoned pirates, the ship represents a fantastic addition to the highly interactive expo offering. This massively anticipated game will also be playable on the show floor with a development team member in attendance to share their experiences of working on the latest swashbuckling instalment of the epic Assassins Creed series.

Equally, Sims fans visiting the show will be in for a treat, as EA confirms it will be bringing the ultimate personalisation tool to the show floor, with the brand new Create-A-Sim for The Sims™ 4! Gamers will now be able customise their Sim like never before, sculpting the most minute details, even switching up their Sim’s walk style to suit their personalities!

Last but certainly not least, consumers will be happy to know Wargaming have confirmed they will be joining the stellar cast and exhibiting at the show this year. Wargaming will be hosting its WCG Australian’s National Final on October 5th at the EB Expo.

To help give ticket holders a small taste of Australia’s biggest gaming event and the enormity of what awaits them, EB has released the Expo Map. The map shows off the sheer scale of the Expo, which is set to be a massive playground for gamers of all ages!

General Admission, Multiplayer, and Family Passes are all still available for purchase in over 380 EB Games Australia stores, www.ebgames.com.au and www.ticketek.com.au.

The EB Games EXPO is a MA15+ event and will feature restricted R18 content. Some exhibitors reserve the right to censor MA15+ content from guests under the age of 15 even when a consenting parent or adult guardian is present. MA15+ games that are censored will be advised as so on the EB Games EXPO website and sign posted at the point of entry to the experience during the event. Guests under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult guardian at all times when entering and residing within the EB Games EXPO precinct. MOGA™ Mobile Gaming System now on sale in Australia

The critically acclaimed MOGA Pocket controller, which is revolutionising the mobile gaming experience, is now officially on sale in Australia. The innovative MOGA system is the go-to gadget for mobile gamers, transforming existing Android smartphones or tablets into portable cross-platform mobile gaming systems - making clumsy and uncomfortable gaming on phone screens a thing of the past.
The MOGA Pocket has been an ongoing favourite within the US and UK markets since its recent launch, receiving rave reviews from media and consumers alike. A similar wave of success is expected down under, with an extremely positive reaction to the device’s debut at PAX Aus 2013 in Melbourne earlier this year. MOGA Pocket will start retailing across the nation from today, selling online and in store at EB Games.
The game-changing MOGA Pocket controller features dual analogue sticks, shoulder triggers, and four action buttons, and connects wirelessly via Bluetooth™, transforming consumers’ existing smartphones and tablets into precision gaming systems – with no extra hardware required.  Using the MOGA Arm™ to secure your smartphone, MOGA Pocket gamers benefit from a uniquely slim and sleek ergonomic design that maximises portability, whilst also minimising wrist fatigue during gaming sessions. Perfect for the gamer-on-the-go, the MOGA Pocket looks set to be a big winner with commuters with its discreet, compact design.

“After much anticipation, we’re excited to be introducing the MOGA Pocket to the Australian market and paving the way for quality mobile gaming controllers,” commented Eric Bensussen, President of PowerA, the makers of MOGA. “We genuinely believe the MOGA Pocket represents a game changer in the sector, providing consumers with a portable gaming experience which is currently lacking in the market place. If the success we’ve experienced in the US and UK markets is anything to go by, we think that it will be very well received in the Australian market. ”
The MOGA Pocket benefits from an extensive library of games that can be accessed via the free, downloadable MOGA Pivot™ app. All a user has to do is download the app from Google Play to their tablet or smartphone to reap the rewards of over 125 MOGA Enhanced game titles, including big-hitters such as Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, Real Soccer 2013, PACMAN® by Namco, and many more. The Pivot™ app is constantly updating, providing MOGA users with an extensive collection of new games every month.

PlayStation®4 (PS4™) Playable Before Official Release at EB EXPO 2013

If you are going to the EB Games Expo, then be sure to make sure you go hands on with the PS4.

The organisers of the EB GAMES EXPO are excited to announce that those attending the October event will be part of gaming history. The EB Expo will play host to the first PlayStation®4 (PS4™) public hands on, ahead of the official launch of the next generation console in Australia.
“It’s fantastic that Australians get the chance to get hands on with the PS4 at EB Expo before its official release. This is usually a privilege reserved for industry insiders, now everyone is an insider” said Debra McGrath, EB Games National Brand, Events and Engagement Manager.
McGrath continued “This is a big deal… people are going to be able to look back in years to come and brag that they played it first. We know that this is something that the community have been waiting for and as gamers ourselves we are equally excited. The prospect of hands on game play before the official release is something gamers only dream of. We are stoked that Sony Computer Entertainment Australia has made this a reality for those attending EB Expo.”
