Nokia detail their 2520 - a 10 inch tablet

Microsoft Office and Outlook is also pre-installed, so getting more done on the go is easier than ever

·         The Lumia 2520 will be available in red and white in a glossy finish as well as cyan and black in a matte finish, and is expect to start shipping in Q4 2013 with an estimated price of USD499 before taxes or subsidies. Initial roll out is to begin broadly in the U.S., U.K and Finland, with additional countries to follow shortly.

Nokia unveil the Lumia 1320

At the Nokia World at Abu Dhabi, Nokia unveiled the 1320, a lower cost 6 inch mobile phone.

The Lumia 1320 features many high-end Lumia innovations on a large 6-inch 720p display and extends the Nokia Camera app to another price range:

With a choice of imaging apps available, the Lumia 1320 comes with Nokia Music for free streaming of ad-free music and HERE maps and location services, so people can experience the most popular Lumia experiences at a more accessible price

The Nokia Lumia 1320 will be available in orange, yellow, white, and black and is expected to start shipping in Q1 2014 with an estimated price of USD339 before taxes and subsidies in China and Vietnam, followed by other Asian markets, India and Europe

Nokia unveil the Lumia 1520

Overnight at the Nokia World Event in Abu Dhabi, Nokia announced the 1520, a new 6 inch mobile phone.

Some of the features include

• Nokia’s first ever large screen Lumia smartphones – the Nokia Lumia 1520 and Lumia 1320 debut the award-winning Lumia design on a 6-inch full HD display
• Along with the latest software advancements for Windows Phone, the two new smartphones are perfectly suited for entertainment and productivity, while the addition of a new third column of home screen tiles means people can see and do more on a larger screen
• The Lumia 1520 also offers the latest imaging innovation from Nokia – a 20MP PureView camera with optical image stabilisation (OIS) enabling sharp images even in the dark as well as oversampling and zooming technology similar to the Lumia 1020:           
• In addition to the new Nokia Camera and Nokia Storyteller applications, the Lumia 1520 offers a vivid 1080p full HD display for outstanding outdoor readability
• People can bring their videos to life with Nokia Rich Recording, an unparalleled audio capture using four built-in microphones
• With Microsoft Office built in, documents can be edited and shared easily for maximum productivity

In addition to this, Nokia also unveiled a new case to go with the phone.

The Nokia Lumia 1520 will be available in yellow, white, black and glossy red. It is expected to start shipping in Q4 2013, with an estimated price of USD749 before taxes and subsidies in Hong Kong, Singapore, U.S., China, U.K., France, Germany, Finland and other European markets, with other markets to follow

The Lumia 1020 - Out later this month in Australia

Sydney, Australia – 4 September 2013.  The Nokia Lumia 1020 will arrive in Australia this month, setting a new benchmark in smartphone imaging.

Nokia’s newest, 4G-enabled smartphone will be available from Telstra and major retailers from the 17^th September and Optus from the 1^st October*.  The RRP is AUD$899.

The Nokia Lumia 1020 features a second generation 41 megapixel sensor, with Carl Zeiss optics and six physical lenses to produce some of the sharpest images of any smartphone or digital camera.  The sensor allows people to zoom in up to three times so they can see the minute detail on people’s faces or the veins on a blade of grass, for example, and then reframe their photos**.

In normal shooting, the camera simultaneously takes a 38-megapixel high-res image and a sharp five-megapixel image so users can easily share their snaps on social networks like Facebook or store on SkyDrive. 

At the heart of the camera is the Nokia Pro Camera app, which provides swipeable dials to adjust settings such as ISO, exposure, shutter speed, white balance and manual focus.  The camera app makes professional performance simple and accessible to all smartphone users.

In addition to photography, the handset's video takes advantage of the huge sensor allowing the user to zoom in four times while recording a 1080p high-definition video and six times in 720p. Videos are bright, stereo sound is crisp and there is no blur due to the handset’s optical image stabilisation technology, which counters any movement.

Andrew Volard, Telstra director device management said the Lumia 1020 was an exciting addition to Telstra’s 4G product line up.

“The Lumia range has been a great success with our customers so far and we expect they will welcome the arrival of the Nokia Lumia 1020. By teaming its razor sharp camera with Telstra’s superfast 4G network, budding photographers will find it easier than ever to take high-quality pictures and share them faster in more places with the Lumia 1020,” Mr Volard said. 

Nokia Australia’s managing director, Steve Lewis, said: “Every year, Australians take millions of photos with their phones to record important life events.  All too often the pictures are grainy, dark or blurry.

“We want to show people that they no longer have to compromise on image quality.

“The Lumia 1020 is without doubt the best imaging smartphone on the market today.  We are continuing our commitment to deliver benchmark experiences in photography,” he said.

Adding further professional capabilities, Nokia is also introducing the Nokia Camera Grip.  This accessory complements the Lumia 1020 and provides features such as additional battery life, a two-stage shutter key and a standard tripod mount. The Nokia Camera Grip is expected to be available in October with an estimated retail price of AUD$89.95.

The Lumia 1020 is around 15 per cent lighter than the popular Nokia Lumia 920, weighing in at just 158g.  It is also packed with familiar Lumia and Windows Phone features.

The Windows Phone Store now has more than 170,000 apps available including local apps such as Virgin Australia, TripView, The SMH/Age, Dimmi, Living Social, Qantas, SBS, National Australia Bank, St.George and goCatch, as well as many of the big global names including Facebook, Skype, Pandora, Evernote etc.

HERE’s full navigation suite - HERE Maps, HERE Drive and HERE Livesight – is also available providing access to more than 190 maps globally, as well as Nokia Music+, a music subscription service delivering curated playlists for $4.99 per month.

The Lumia Moon: Australia’s first-of-its-kind art installation turns day into night

If your in Sydney, then stop by the Lumia Moon exhibit, I am sure it will not fail to impress.

Sydney, Australia – 5 August 2013.  This August, the full moon will take on a very different form as it appears “life-like” at a pop-up art installation on Sydney’s George Street. The Lumia Moon will provide passers-by with a rare opportunity to take pictures of this magnificent satellite, using Nokia’s best low-light camera smartphone, the Lumia 925.

The Lumia Moon, which was conceived and designed by Australian creative collective – The Glue Society – is a topographically large-scale replica of the full moon suspended over a body of water, which mimics one of Australia’s most beautiful lunar vistas – Broome’s Staircase to the Moon.

Nokia is giving would-be photographers the opportunity to try out the low-light capabilities of the Lumia 925 and capture one of the trickiest objects to photograph – the moon.  

The most impressive photo of the Lumia Moon will be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Broome, Western Australia, to shoot the real-life Staircase to the Moon, as well as receive a Lumia 925 smartphone.

The Lumia Moon art installation and pop-up experience will also provide a point of inspiration by showcasing a series of incredible low-light images taken across the country by well-known Australian photographers.

Nokia unveils Lumia 1020 - Sports a 41 megapixel camera

Last night at a press conference in New York, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop set a new benchmark in smartphone photography with the announcement of the Nokia Lumia 1020. Unlike any smartphone on the market today, the Nokia Lumia 1020 – with its second generation 41 megapixel sensor – reinvents zoom, enabling people to discover more detail than ever before.
