Alienware Aurora Reinvigorates Desktop Gaming with Extreme Performance‏ & It's out NOW!

SYDNEY, Australia, 13 September, 2013 – Alienware, the pioneer in high-performance gaming systems, announced today that its flagship gaming desktop, the Alienware Aurora, has been reinvigorated with the latest performance processors and graphics to provide gamers with the ultimate gaming experience. Consistent with the Alienware heritage of always pushing the boundaries with technology and performance, the new Aurora desktop will inspire hardcore gamers around the world to push their own limits and achieve higher scores with its compelling features, innovative and bold design, and extreme performance.

The Aurora is now available with the latest Intel Core i7 processors including an Extreme Edition option, processors with as many as 6 cores and 15MB of cache, and overclock speeds up to 4.3GHz[i] with Turbo Boost technology. These new options are part of Intel’s new IvyBridge-E4000-series family of processors announced at the Intel Developer Forum 2013 in San Francisco. Additionally, Aurora is now available with the latest NVIDIA GeForce 700-series graphics and AMD 8900-series graphics options. These latest components provide support for immersive experiences, whether multi-display, 3D or higher resolutions beyond 1080p gaming. Gamers are covered when it comes to future upgrades with support for quad-channel DDR3 memory; players can also increase speed and capacity by adding additional hard drives or solid state drives within the 4 internal drive bays.

The innovative ALX chassis (available as an option) is ready to take on the thermal and acoustic challenges of the latest performance components. It features an intelligent thermal management system that monitors key locations within the chassis to ensure heat is being dissipated optimally. The active vents at the top of the chassis open, as if the system is coming to life, to provide additional heat dissipation when required. The ALX chassis’ premium CPU liquid cooling enables overclocking and lower operating temperatures, while meticulous details like internal theater lighting and tool-less, cable-free hard drive caddies support easy upgrades.

The updated Alienware Command Center software provides intuitive, user-friendly access to Alienware-exclusive applications and controls in one centralised hub.  Command Center includes the exclusive AlienFX lighting control system which allows users to create their own custom lighting themes and special effects. With the ALX chassis, gamers will have up to 20 colors to choose from across 8 different lighting zones, totaling to over 25 billion possible lighting combinations. Alienware has worked closely with game developers to incorporate AlienFX in over 60 game titles. Whether healing, taking damage, or completing missions, AlienFX lights are an extension of the game play. Alienware Command Center also features AlienAdrenaline, a custom game and application launcher, a system performance optimiser and a performance monitoring tool, as well as AlienFusion advanced power management and Thermal and Active Venting controls.

The Alienware Aurora will be available on Dell.com.au in Australia and New Zealand starting on September 13.

The Alienware Aurora entry configuration now offers double the amount of storage (from 1 to 2 terabytes) over the previous generation, in addition to the unlocked and overclocked Intel Core i7-4820K Ivy Bridge-E processor, and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX760 1.5GB DDR5 graphics card, starting at $2,699(AUD).

Alienware bring 3 new laptops to market

On Thursday night, Alienware took over a space in Sydney to present to a selected group of Australian media their new range of gaming laptops called the Alienware 14, Alienware 17 and Alienware 18. The event had multiple versions of each for people to go hands on with, and I can say that they are very well made and extremely capable machines.

Each of the laptops has a unique look to it, and it’s one that you won’t find on any other laptop from any other maker, and that’s a great thing. Because while most companies are going for the MacBook style “Ultrabook” Alienware have done the opposite and built a laptop for gaming that not only defies that sterile look but also destroys previous notions of what a laptop had to be.

The 14, being the smallest of the 3 will suit most gamers, with its overall size and power, but its lack of a traditional numerical pad on board might throw people off.

The 17 and 18 are only really separated by the extra screen space, with both machines sporting some very nice specs and a numerical pad.

Now you might be asking yourself, well just how powerful are these laptops, well I can assure you that they are very powerful. Ubisoft were kind enough to bring Splinter Cell: Blacklist for the event, and the game ran beautifully on all 3 models of the laptops. Check back for more details about that game soon.

All the machines are using the all new haswell based i7’s from Intel and graphics from Nvidia in the form of the 700 series.  The 14 series has 3 expansion slots for more storage space, and the 17 and 18 models have 4 slots. So as a desktop replacement, there is plenty of room to grow.But if you want the best, then the 18 is the model for you, as it will come with Nvidia SLI graphics as standard, and the CPU is overclocked to 4.3GHz

E3 2013 - Alienware introduces all new laptops

SYDNEY, Australia, June 12, 2013 – Alienware, the pioneer in specialty high-performance PC gaming systems, introduced its latest and most powerful gaming laptops with the unveiling of the Alienware 14, Alienware 17 and Alienware 18 at E3 in Los Angeles.  The systems feature a bold new design and extraordinary performance, uniquely engineered to deliver the ultimate gaming experience. 

The new laptops include the Alienware 14 for the enthusiast gamer who requires a laptop that provides enough performance for any task, yet is mobile enough to fit into a backpack; the Alienware 17 for an immersive, graphics-intensive experience with the latest technologies for desktop-grade performance; and the Alienware 18, the ultimate gaming laptop that commands respect among top gamers for its unparalleled performance and construction. 

All three laptops feature a new, iconic, angular design that takes its cues from jet engines and stealth bombers with an anodised aluminium shell and magnesium alloy body. The latest laptops are exceptionally durable, with over 60 percent of the main mechanical components made of various metals. The keyboard is protected by a reinforced plate to ensure a solid typing experience, while the travel and responsiveness is specifically designed with gamers’ needs in mind. Based on customer feedback, the new Alienware 14 now features an anti-glare LCD display with wide viewing angles for reflection-free gaming in nearly any lighting condition, including a premium Full HD panel option with IPS. DDR3L memory provides exceptional bandwidth with lower voltage requirements designed for increased battery life, and the laptops now provide support for up to three storage drives on the Alienware 14, and up to four storage drives on the Alienware 17 and 18. For the first time ever, the Alienware 18 will feature NVIDIA SLI dual graphics technology as standard, and the laptop will offer an overclocked CPU option with a maximum speed of 4.3GHz[i].
