E3 2013 - Dead Rising Facts

Why So Serious?: As many suspected from the reveal trailer, Dead Rising 3 does strike a more serious tone. Capcom says the decision was made to make zombies seem like dangerous, formidable foes, and to introduce some more horror-based moments to the game. Despite the shift in tone, there will still be plenty of craziness. The crafting system allows you to build a wide variety of ridiculous weapons, and killing a bunch of zombies in a row allows you to pull off gruesome finishing moves. Given the increased focus on naval combat, DICE is making sure you aren't a sitting duck if you lose your sea vessel or parachute into a body of water. Soldiers can now swim sprint, use sidearms in the water, hit the crounch button to dive underneath the surface of the water, and even deploy C4 to take out boats.

The game is set in the city of Cloudbank, a romanticized city of soaring towers and high culture, but there's something amiss in the metropolis. An organization called the Camerata is behind a series of mysterious disappearances and deaths, and their latest target is a famous singing star known only as Red - the female protagonist of the game.

E3 2013 - Hands on with Mad Max

Mad Max's patchwork, rough metal vehicles are as iconic as the character, so the game places a heavier emphasis on vehicles (and vehicular combat) than most open world games. And, the world is truly open -- you'll be able to offroad literally anywhere on the map that a real vehicle could reach.
