NEW SUPER LUIGI U OUT NOW ON NINTENDO eSHOP‏

21st June 2013 – With the Year of Luigi in full flow the spotlight is firmly on Luigi, the man in green, who takes over from Mario in New Super Luigi U, in his own platform adventure exclusively on Wii U. Luigi and friends battle their way through over 80 brand new courses all tweaked to be even more challenging and exciting! This game is now available as Add-On Content for New Super Mario Bros. U via Nintendo eShop* and will be available in stores as a standalone game in Australia and New Zealand from 27th July.

New Super Luigi U tests the capabilities of seasoned gamers and fans of the series, with the simple act of travelling to the Goal Pole at the end of each course remixed with seemingly improbable jumps, formidably hidden Star Coins and all with just a time limit of 100 seconds to do it in! Whilst each course is challenging, they are designed with densely packed features to invite you to replay each one of your best performance.

With Mario taking a break in this twist on New Super Mario Bros. U, Luigi takes centre stage bringing a set of skills that change the way you play! For instance, Luigi can jump much higher and further than Mario, and is able to cross chasms and reach platforms that Mario never could in a single jump. Players better watch out though as Luigi finds it a lot harder to stop once he starts moving…

Take on the challenge with friends in multiplayer in New Super Luigi U, where players can join Luigi as Yellow Toad, Blue Toad or Nabbit – a character first seen in New Super Mario Bros. U – and now playable for the first time! Nabbit brings his own nifty skills to the table; he is invincible which will make life easier with enemies and obstacles, and any items he collects are converted into 1-Ups at the end of the course. Nabbit is perfect for beginners and when paired with Luigi, he offers a whole new multiplayer experience. Or join in with Boost Mode and help Luigi to reach new areas and jump further by dropping blocks into the course with the Wii U GamePad touch screen for the ultimate speed run!

New Super Luigi U is now available via the Nintendo eShop* as Add-On Content for owners of the digital and disc versions of New Super Mario Bros. U – and will also be available at retail as a stand-alone game disc on 27th July.

*An available update is required for New Super Mario Bros. U to download the AOC version. A wireless broadband Internet connection is required to perform this update. Internet usage charges may apply. Consult with your ISP."

HARNESS THE POWER OF DREAMY LUIGI IN MARIO & LUIGI: DREAM TEAM BROS. ON 13th JULY

6th June 2013 – With great success in countless quests down the years, it’s as if the powerful pairing of Mario and Luigi can defeat enemies in their sleep. In Mario & Luigi™: Dream Team Bros., releasing 13th July in Australia and New Zealand for the Nintendo 3DS™ family of consoles, the brothers put such a theory to the test in a new adventure set on both an island near the realm of the Mushroom Kingdom, and within the depths of Luigi’s own dreams!

In this fourth
instalment of the popular RPG series Mario & Luigi, the story opens with Princess Peach and her staff, plus brothers Mario and Luigi in tow, being invited for a sightseeing trip to the mysterious Pi’illo Island by its equally mysterious proprietor, Dr Snoozemore. But after an initially hospitable welcoming to the island – albeit with Dr Snoozemore noticeably absent - things take a turn for the worse when Princess Peach is kidnapped and pulled into a Dream World by a new enemy in the series, the ghostly bat king Antasma.

To chase down this new foe and rescue Princess Peach, Mario must enter this Dream World through the dreams of a sleeping Luigi, whose brain is revealed to be on a wavelength with the population of Pi’illo Island, the Pi’illo Folk. Alternating between Luigi’s Dream World and the real world, Mario and Luigi must solve puzzles, battle enemies, and even interact with creations of Luigi’s own imagination in order to succeed!

The relationship between the real world and Dream World plays a critical role within the game. While roaming the Pi’illo Island environment in the real world, Mario and Luigi need to combine equally to use trademark Bros. Moves, while in the Dream World, it is the power of Dreamy Luigi that is all-important in supporting Mario. For example, Luiginary Works are magical ways in which the player can interact with the Dream World environment through Luigi’s sleeping form. Whether it is tweaking Luigi’s moustache or scratching his nose on the bottom screen of the console, this interaction provokes a reaction in the Dream World, affecting the environment to the benefit of Mario.

In the Dream World battle sequences, the power of Dreamy Luigi once again comes to the fore when a horde of Luigis power up Mario to create formidable Luiginary Attacks, moves which greatly differ from the trademark Bros. Attacks in the real world, and which make use of the capabilities of the Nintendo 3DS or Nintendo 3DS XL consoles in original ways. As an example, one Luiginary Attack comprises Mario riding on top of a ball of Luigis, with the player using the motion controls of the console to navigate the ball’s course to crush the enemies that lie ahead. Whether attacking, counterattacking or dodging in battle, the 3D capabilities of the console are also critical for players to judge perfectly timed actions.

When a battle is won, the levelling-up mechanic in-game follows a classic RPG formula, with experience points earned, improving common attributes such as health points and power, plus the addition of classic franchise attributes such as Bro Points – needed to perform special attacks – and STACHE – influencing the chance of Mario or Luigi scoring a critical hit in battle – remaining in this latest instalment in the Mario & Luigi series. Also following previous games in the series is a badge reward system, whereby both brothers can find or buy badges in-game that can be combined to earn the brothers useful rewards after certain actions – such as performing ‘excellent’ attacks - are carried out in battle. For those new to the series meanwhile, hint messages, an easy mode and a slow attack mode will help players get to grips with the battle sequences.

Uncover the power of Dreamy Luigi in the latest adventure in the
Mario & Luigi series when Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros. comes to the Nintendo 3DS family of consoles on 13th July.

Luigi returns to help his mad-scientist friend, Professor E. Gadd, by sucking up the ghosts in each of the mysterious mansions filled with puzzling contraptions that must be manipulated to proceed. Armed with a torch and the Poltergust 5000, which can be upgraded with new features such as the Strobulb light to stun the wacky wraiths and the Dark-Light Device to reveal invisible clues and objects, Luigi is fully equipped to tackle any paranormal activity!

As you explore, keep a close eye on your surroundings and investigate every nook and cranny to bring the secrets of the mansions to light. Experimenting with the Poltergust’s functions to either suck things up or blow them away will often be key to making your way: rolling up a carpet may reveal a concealed switch, while peeling off loose wallpaper can expose a secret doorway. As you come up with different ways to use your tools, you’ll also uncover fiendishly hidden gems for your collection and gather stacks of cash to gain equipment upgrades.

The adventure is brought to life with rich, cartoon-like graphics in immersive auto-stereoscopic 3D. Each mansion has its own characteristics and equally the variety of ghosts roaming the mansions’ halls and rooms are full of personality, fun and mischief, lending a light-hearted touch to the exploration of the haunted houses.

In addition to the solo adventure, up to four players can get together locally or online to venture into the Thrill Tower in the multiplayer mode, where each controls a differently-coloured Luigi to tackle three varied challenges awaiting on its floors. In Hunter mode, work together to hunt down ghouls and clear each floor before the clock strikes zero. In Polterpup mode, chase the adorable ghost dog with your Dark-Light Device in tow to catch him. In Rush mode, frantically hunt for the escape hatch that allows your team Luigi to climb up to the next floor.

International critics have been enjoying Luigi's Mansion 2 as seen through the glowing reviews to date, including:

"Luigi’s Mansion 2 might be a sequel, but it’s one that shows Nintendo at its inventive best. It’s an essential game in the 3DS’ increasingly impressive line-up" - 9.3 - IGN

"The lengthy single-player experience, which should take most players more than 10 hours, is filled with clever puzzles, rewarding exploration, and smartly designed gameplay..." - 9.5 - Nintendo World Report

"Every haunted room seems to breathe with an inventive charm and delicate attention to detail that make this game one of the best reasons to own a 3DS" - 9.3 - GameTrailers

Luigi’s Mansion 2 makes its ghostly appearance across Australia and New Zealand today exclusively for Nintendo 3DS, both as a packaged game and as a digital download from Nintendo eShop.
