Sony introduces new 3D Digital Recording Binoculars‏

Sony Australia has announced the availability of its new 3D Digital Recording Binoculars. The DEV-50V is rain and dust resistant, making it the perfect all-weather companion for zooming in and recording sports, wildlife and travel.

Sony’s digital recording binoculars offer sensational close up views of animals in the wild or crucial sporting moments. Unlike ordinary binoculars there’s no need to keep focusing manually as your scene changes, with speed precise autofocus ensuring everything stays pin-sharp.  With the touch of a button you can take crystal sharp photos as well as stunning Full HD 3D video footage of birds in flight, the footy game or distant mountain peaks.

“We are excited to launch Sony’s second generation 3D, HD recording binoculars. This new model has a stealth design and is packed with new features such as a high res OLED viewfinder,” says Ervin Quek, Marketing Manager, Digital Imaging at Sony Australia. “The binoculars are smaller and lighter than the previous model and let you capture everything with one device, lightening the load of carrying a set of binoculars and a digital camera.”

• XGA OLED Tru-Finder – Image contrast is approximately 33 x greater than that found in a conventional electronic viewfinder

• Rainproof and Dustproof

• Dual G Lens with x25 magnification, 10 x optical zoom

• Optical SteadyShot – Sony’s class-leading image stabilisation system

• 20.4MP Exmor R™ CMOS Sensor

• HyperGain - Enhanced low-light visibility

• In-built GPS

• Triluminos Colour

Oz Comic Con Melbourne - Part 3 The Panels

One of the best things about attending these events is the chance to sit down and listen to people talk about all sorts of things. I took the time to sit in on the voice actor panel and was smiling ear to ear as I left.

Hearing the extremely talented people real of voice after voice that you know and love was a treat like nothing else.

For those who did not make it to the panel, we were lucky enough to see Rob Paulsen, Bill Farmer, Debi Derryberry, Erin Fitzgerald and Rodger Bumpass.

From left to right, Rob, Erin, Bill, Debi and Roger.

Rodger was a good sport even though his name was not right.

Rob Paulsen is someone I am sure that everyone will have heard at least once at some point, whether its rocking out some turtle justice as Raphael with the original Ninja Turtles, or Donatello with new version. Perhaps making you laugh with a random Narf! or "Hello Nurse"

Erin Fitzgerald is someone who is quite new to me, so I must apologize for my lack of knowledge regarding her work. She is most known for her role on Ed, Edd n Eddy but is currently scaring up the tv screen in Monster High.

Bill Farmer is a name you might not know but you know the voice. Having been selected back in 1986 as the voice of the charming, yet clueless Goofy. He also provides the voice for Mickey's faithful pal, Pluto. When not throwing out the odd "ah-hyuck", Bill has also provided the voice for Foghorn Leghorn and other classic Warner Bros. characters.

Debi Derryberry is most well known for her work as Jimmy Neutron, and Wednesday Addams, but can also be heard in other shows such as Sofia the First or Monster High.

Rodger Bumpass is most known for the role of Squidward on Spongebob Squarepants. But can also be heard in a few shows such as Invader Zim, Teen Titans and The Jetsons.

Rodger shocked to learn he is in Australia... no Austria

The panel was full of laughs, with a lot of people posing a range of questions, with even a great request for the end.  Check out some of the photos below.

Oz Comic Con Melbourne - Part 2 The People

So what is a con without the people, well its just a large building with some things in it. Thankfully Oz Comic Con did a great job with the whole kit and the people braved the cold Melbourne weather to see it in droves.

This is what the show floor looked like about 2 minutes before the doors opened.

This is what it looked like about 2 hours later

Taken from the second level, you can see just how busy the show floor was.

And even around lunch time, the line to get the autograph of any celebrity was still long

And of course, lots of people dressed up in their favorite game, comic, anime or whatever character. However I think this man, working at one of the booths was just brilliant.

Oz Comic Con Melbourne - Part 1 The Artists

So today was the first day of Oz Comic Con here in Melbourne. There were a host of international celebrities as well as a massive range of local artists. For some people, its a chance to dress up and have a great day out, for others its the chance to hear from the people they admire. Here are some of the highlights from the booths on the floor.

One of the first people I had the pleasure of chatting too was this man, Shane W. Smith a local author who not only wrote a book, but then had the desire to turn it into a Graphic Novel.

The Lesser Evil is a story that explores what it means to have a dream, and its quite an impressive book.

If you want to learn more about this fantastic book, check out the site here.

Another booth that showcased some awesome Aussie talent was from Guild - Jewellery Design.

Andrew, has made all these pieces and they are all licensed by DC.  As you can see from the photos below, they are spectacular pieces.

If you want to check out more of the work that Andrew has done, perhaps even get some custom work done, then please check out his site here.

Another artist showcasing his amazing talents is Michael Rogers, and talent this man certainly has.

Check out his work on Facebook, and like his page if you like his work. I know I do.

The final artists I would like to highlight are the team from 8-Bitty, they take images we all know and serve them up 8-bit style.  Check out some of their work.

If you want to purchase anything from 8-Bitty, be sure to check out their online shop.
